City Guides: Charleston

We asked our Charleston store manager, Carly Greeley, to give us her favorite haunts in the city she calls home. Whether you’re a fellow Charlestonian or planning a visit, check out these recommendations from a local (and add your own in the comments!):

Favorite Sushi: “The people at Osaka know me by my order! But I recently stumbled on Zen Asian Fusion. I love the Paradise Roll.”

Favorite Mexican Restaurant: Mex 1 and Zia Taqueria. “I’m constantly craving the nachos at Mex 1.”

Favorite Coffee Shop: Metto Coffee

Favorite Places to Satisfy a Sweet Tooth: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Shop and Sugar Bakeshop cupcakes (try the key lime, lemon, or orange dream).

Favorite Place to Relax: “I love crossing the Ravenel Bridge in the mornings. The sun glistening over the water on my ride to work always puts a smile on my face.”

Favorite Beach: Sullivan’s Island. “When the tide goes out, the water is shallow and peaceful. It’s a great place for paddle boarding and kite boarding!”

Favorite Date Spot: Avondale Wine and Cheese. “I could eat a pound of the Bucheron Cheese in one sitting.”

Favorite Shopping Spots: Bashful Boutique, Teal, Francesca’s, Haute Hanger, Anthropologie, Tanger Outlets and Town Center.

Favorite Splurge Activity: “If tickets for the Annual Food and Wine Festival were cheaper, I’d attend every year! You get to taste local wines and food for hours!”

Favorite Winter Activity: A pottery class at Fire & Earth Pottery.  “Once a day for 2 hours over 8 weeks, I get to play with clay. I also get to create a new piece every glass and take it home with me at the end of the course!”
